Education:
Degree in Medicine from a recognized university and postgraduate degree/diploma in epidemiology/public health or equivalent.

Skills:
Knowledge of the WHO policies, mandate, mission and goals. Sound technical knowledge and national policies and strategies on communicable diseases surveillance and response, epidemiological capacity enhancement
and epidemic/pandemic preparedness and response; good administrative knowledge of the functioning of Ministries and other related departments/agencies; demonstrated ability to work in harmony with
national/international staff and maintaining poise even in difficult situations. In-depth knowledge about issues related to communicable disease surveillance and epidemiology; prevention and control of diverse
communicable diseases; and pandemic preparedness and response would be an asset.

Other Skills (e.g. IT): Proficiency in use of computer applications for management and analysis of large databases on disease surveillance and health information and design of computerized disease surveillance and
health information data systems.

Experience:
3 to 5 years of in the areas of communicable disease surveillance, prevention and control at state and national level working closely with the government, voluntary and private health sector; experience in the areas of training, developing policy/strategies, quality assurance, etc, in the field of communicated disease surveillance,epidemiology, prevention and control; and pandemic preparedness and response will be an advantage.

Languages:
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and very good knowledge of Hindi.

Additional Information:
THIS POSITION IS SUBJECT TO LOCAL RECRUITMENT AND WILL BE FILLED BY AN INDIAN NATIONAL
FROM WITHIN THE INDIA.
Annual salary: (Net of tax)
INR 1,491,910 at single rate
